Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Kryotic LLC ("Ambient Analysis", "we", "us") collects when you use ambientanalysis.net and the services available through it (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not skimmed; if anything is unclear, email support@ambientanalysis.net.
1. What we collect
Account information. Your email address and a password. We store the password only as a one-way hash; we cannot read it.
Your strategies and results. The strategy descriptions you type, the structured rules the Service derives from them, strategies you save or edit, backtest runs and their results, Monte Carlo and analysis outputs, AI-written audits, and any CSV data files you upload for a backtest.
Billing information. When you subscribe, Stripe collects your payment details directly. We never see or store your card number. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your subscription status, and the end date of your current billing period.
Usage information. Counts of AI parses and AI audits per billing window (used to apply plan limits), and the timestamps of your runs.
Technical information. Server logs containing your IP address, request times, the pages and endpoints you access, and your browser type. We use these to keep the Service secure, apply rate limits, and diagnose problems.
We do not collect government identifiers, financial account details beyond what Stripe needs, or precise location data.
2. How we use it
- To provide the Service: run your backtests, store your strategies, show your results, and apply the limits of your plan.
- To process payments and manage your subscription through Stripe.
- To keep the Service secure: authenticate you, prevent abuse, and investigate suspicious activity.
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, and material changes to the Service or these policies.
- To improve the Service, using aggregate or de-identified information about how it is used.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your strategies, uploaded data, or results for advertising.
3. AI processing
When you enter a strategy description or request an audit, that text, together with the run data needed for the audit, is sent to our AI model provider (Anthropic) to produce the structured strategy or the written audit. Under our provider's commercial terms, this data is not used to train their models. We do not use it to train models either.
4. Who else sees your data
We share data only with providers that help us run the Service, and only what they need:
- Stripe, Inc. for payment processing and subscription management.
- Anthropic, PBC for AI interpretation of strategy text and written audits.
- Amazon Web Services and Vercel for hosting the application and the database (United States).
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or ourselves, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your data.
5. Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to protect your account. They are set by the Service itself, and they are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Blocking them will prevent you from signing in.
6. Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information, strategies, uploaded files, and results within 30 days, except for records we are required to keep for tax, accounting, or legal reasons, such as billing records, and except for backups, which are overwritten on a rolling schedule. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes and then discarded.
7. Security
Traffic to and from the Service is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. Access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will notify you as required by law.
8. Your choices and rights
You can update your password from within the Service. To access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to close your account, email support@ambientanalysis.net from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to know what we hold about you, to have it deleted, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights; the same email address is the way to exercise them. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
You will receive emails about your account and billing, which are necessary to run the Service. We do not send marketing email.
9. Children
The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
10. Where your data is processed
The Service is operated from the United States and your data is stored there. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always available at ambientanalysis.net/privacy with its "last updated" date. For material changes we will notify you by email or inside the Service before they take effect.
