Educational use only

Ambient Analysis is a research and education tool. Nothing in the Service is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any instrument. Kryotic LLC is not a broker, dealer, commodity trading advisor, or investment adviser, and does not know your financial situation or objectives. Every trading decision you make is yours alone. If you need advice, consult a licensed professional.

Trading risk

Trading futures, options, and other leveraged instruments carries a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Leverage can work against you as easily as for you, and you can lose more than your initial investment. Only risk capital you can afford to lose. Past performance, whether real or simulated, is not indicative of future results.

Hypothetical performance

Every result the Service shows you is hypothetical. It is produced by applying a set of rules to historical data after the fact, with full knowledge of how that data unfolded. Hypothetical results have inherent limitations:

They are not the result of actual trading. No real orders were placed, and no real money was at risk.
They are prepared with the benefit of hindsight. A strategy can be shaped, deliberately or not, to fit the data it is tested on.
They do not reflect the effect of actual market conditions on execution. Liquidity, order-book depth, partial fills, requotes, exchange outages, and the market impact of your own orders are not modeled.
They use the assumptions displayed with each run. Unless a run states otherwise, results assume a fixed commission per trade, a fixed position size with no compounding, and fills at modeled prices. Slippage, exchange and clearing fees beyond the stated commission, financing costs, and contract multipliers are not applied unless the run says they are.
Many other factors, including your ability to withstand losses and to follow a strategy consistently during a drawdown, affect real trading results and cannot be simulated.

Historical data

The market data used by the Service is licensed from third parties and may contain errors, gaps, and revisions. Continuous futures data is unadjusted, so price jumps at contract rolls appear in the data and can affect results. Coverage is limited to the instruments and timeframes listed inside the Service, and the amount of history available depends on the timeframe. A strategy that works on one instrument or period may fail on another.

AI-generated content

The Service uses an AI system to interpret your plain-English strategy description and to write audits of your results. AI systems make mistakes. The rules the Service derives may not match what you intended, especially for ambiguous instructions, and the assumptions and defaults it applied are shown with each parse so that you can check them. Written audits describe the numbers; they are not advice and may contain errors. Review every interpretation and every audit before you act on it.

Monte Carlo and statistics

Monte Carlo results are produced by resampling the trades of a single backtest. They illustrate how much the outcome of that particular trade list could vary by chance; they are not a forecast, they do not model changes in market behavior, and they inherit every limitation of the backtest they came from. Statistics computed on a small number of trades are unreliable, and the Service may omit some statistics where the sample is too small to support them.

Exported code

Code exported from the Service, such as Pine Script, is generated from your strategy rules and is provided as a starting point. It may behave differently on a third-party platform than the Service's own backtest, because of differences in data, fill logic, and platform features. Test any exported code on the destination platform before using it with real money.
